Pre-Convention Training

While many members have been to an AUPE Convention, delegates can always benefit from gaining more knowledge and experience. The Pre-Convention Training course gives delegates an understanding of the purpose of Convention, but also an appreciation of the central importance of conventions to union decision-making. The future of AUPE depends on delegates sharing their views, debating, engaging in reasoned thought, and voting to make decisions for all the membership. This online course will:

• Identify why we have Convention.
• Describe the key players, including Delegates, Standing Committees and Executive Committee members.
• Illustrate what to expect at Convention, including when and where Convention takes place.
• Describe how Convention business takes place.

The Pre-Convention Training course will be open by September 1, 2020
