2019 is an AUPE election year. Convention delegates will vote to elect the union’s eight-member Executive Committee, which consists of President, Executive Secretary-Treasurer and Vice-Presidents.
Submit a completed nomination form (see below) with deposit before August 16, 2019.
Candidates who submit their nomination form before August 16, 2019, and pay a $100 deposit (payable to AUPE and refunded upon their acceptance of nomination at Convention) are entitled to the following:
A candidate statement published in Direct Impact and AUPE’s website. Submissions must be received by August 18, 2019 and cannot exceed 500 words. Candidate statements should be sent to: [email protected] Late submissions will not be printed or published – no exceptions.
Candidates may also participate in virtual telephone town halls in advance of the election. More information on these virtual telephone town halls will be coming soon. Please check www.aupeconvention.org for updates.
All candidates, including those who submit their nomination form and deposit after August 16, 2019, are entitled to send one-time email message to all Convention delegates and may have access to delegate contact lists (if timelines permit).
Candidates who have not submitted their nomination form before Convention may still run from Convention. All candidates, including those who declare in advance of Convention, must be nominated from the floor.
At AUPE Convention 2019 in October, delegates will elect the Executive Committee, which consists of President, Executive Secretary-Treasurer and six Vice-Presidents.
